Hi, I'm Winton Ma and I am excited to be running for your class president. As great as SBC has been in running our transition to high school, I believe we have so much potential to make these remaining three-and-a-half years even more spectacular. My ideas range from bonding events to enrichment activities, but that’s just the beginning. I want to best represent your interests, so if you see me in the hallway or just want someone to talk to, please don’t hesitate to say hi.

Hey Lowell! Imagine a school where everyone is heard, every event is meaningful, and every challenge is an opportunity. My name is Hugo Zorn, and I’m campaigning for LSA President to bring every student’s voice into our school, into every event, and into every challenge. One of my proudest achievements was when I was invited to be on the board of the Marin County Office of Education. With this honour, I was able to carry the voices of over 1,000 students from Lowell into these rooms, and fight for real changes, such as getting our school program improved. It’s not just about the title. It’s about making sure that every single one of us has a voice that truly counts. As your LSA President, I plan to build on that momentum. I’ll create events that matter to us, strengthen our community, and make sure your voices are heard.

Hi Lowellites! My name is Maddy Yee, and I am running to be your LSA 2028 President! First I would like to name some of my experiences in leadership roles. During middle school, I was part of a social justice and leadership club. I helped host many events to raise awareness of social issues, as well as creating fundraisers for organizations like the Women’s Building and Saint Jude’s hospital. I have also led lively events like carnivals and movie nights for many organizations. One of my goals as president of class 2028 is to help represent the voices of our community. I will use my communication skills to help advocate for everyone’s opinions. I can help create memorable experiences for you such as dances and event nights, making sure that you have the opportunity to have fun during your freshman year. Remember to vote for me, Maddy Yee for President!

Greetings to all Lowell freshmen! I’m Vicky Li, a determined candidate running for your next President of LSA 2028. As a freshman, I thoroughly relate to any uncertainties you have as we settle within the winds of this island named high school. My main goal upon being elected is to maintain a well-represented school community by making your voices heard. With strong communication between our shared expectations of Lowell—interests that I aim to gather adequately—and the administration’s ends, students will be more informed about school and community events.
And you know what? After two years of middle school student council experience and the listening ears of an earnest advocate, I am confident in my capabilities to create better student readiness for our school. I will be a bridge that connects island to world, a resilient cardinal of the flock. Together, let us pass through challenging winds and find the horizon. |
Hey! I’m Harmony Chung, and I’m running to be your LSA 2028 President. As an active community member, I try to be as involved as possible. I’ll bring my ideas to Lowell to make this year as easy for us freshmen as we transition into a new chapter of our lives. Classes are already stressful, so a few fun events will help you take your mind off all the pressure. Once I’m president, I’ll do my best to apply every piece of feedback so you guys can feel comfortable in the place where we’ll spend our next 4 years together. To serve as a voice for our grade, I guarantee that everyone’s opinions will be heard. I assure you that I’ll follow through with every commitment and promise and keep everyone informed of all the happenings this year. After all, when there’s Harmony at Lowell, every voice will be heard!

Hello, and nice to meet you all, my fellow 9th graders. My name is Yongtong Chen, and I am running for the position LSA 2028 president. As 9th graders, we are starting anew and it will be difficult as our workload increases. We'll need fun events to balance it out. From my time in my middle school’s events committee, I’ve seen many students not participating much in school events because they felt that the events were too lame or boring. And that’s what I’m going to change. Instead of having whoever decides what the events are and what will be happening, we’ll have the students choose. This way, we could have actual fun and get to know each other. Together, let’s all make fun memories for our first year of high school. Vote Yongtong Chen for LSA 2028 president!

Hi Freshmen! My name is Zoie Hon, and I’m running to be your Vice President. Lowell is and has always been my dream school. I’m so excited to be a student here and I want to give back to this amazing community. In the past, I’ve organized tutoring sessions, and helped out at bake sales to raise money for Roosevelt’s music program. Being on the student board gives me more volunteering opportunities to create a bigger impact. As freshmen, we’re all still familiarizing ourselves with the people we’re going to spend the next four years with. I believe that a strong community is the core of our success. As your Vice President, I will focus on bringing our grade together with fun bonding events and activities. This is only the beginning, and I will work to create an unforgettable high school experience. Vote Zoie Hon for Freshman Vice President!

Hello, class of 2028! I am your LSA Vice Presidential candidate, Jason Mei. As we transition through two educational milestones in life, we also transition into becoming young adults. Schools no longer ring bells when classes start and end. We soon have to worry about community service and extracurriculars. Not to mention, homework being piled up. School can become overwhelming. To make your transition as smooth as possible, I promise to listen to your concerns and interests. Coming from a big middle school, I recognize feelings of not being heard. Working as a tutor and teacher assistant in middle school, I am able to communicate with students and adults to resolve issues. With these skills, I assure you that I can create and fund the events to make your freshman year memorable like dances, rallies, etc. With your help, let's create an unforgettable year

My name is Katherine Katz and I'm running for vice president. I've been a part of the student council/student government since 4th grade. I was also the founder of my middle school's student council, I was also president for all three years in middle school. Besides that I ran all the carnivals and oversaw all the events at my old school. Some of my goals if you elect me for vice president is I want a lot of student voice in dances and other grade level events. I don't want it to just be one singular person making up all the decisions I wanna make sure everyone is heard. Also to make our class one of the best classes to graduate and make sure our years at Lowell are fun and actually super lit!

Hi there, I'm Matthew Leon - and I'm running for LSA 2028 Secretary. I promise to have the wits, the skills, and the ability to be your secretary due to my experience. I was the 8th-grade president of my middle school, as well as secretary for its Student Government during 7th grade, and senator throughout my entire middle school career. I volunteered at the APEC event downtown last year and learned about many different countries throughout Asia and the Americas, as well as a deeper understanding of how government and bureaucracy work. I promise to be an efficient secretary, with in-depth note-taking skills, organization, as well as attention to detail at the center of every note sheet for the meetings I take notes on.
|
After three years of student government experience, I have consistent views on how to lead. My notes are concise and easy-to-understand (your ethnic studies teacher would approve!) I’m committed and confident when it comes to writing, as seen through my (almost published) book. I had to create an outline—an organized plan for the plot. It is very easy for me to organize and be neat when writing, which is what a secretary needs.
If you want an organized and easy year (when it comes to school events) vote Isabella Rabe for Secretary! |
Hi there! I am Mauricio Becerra and I am running to be your 2028 LSA Treasurer. I am excited and feel fit to do so because I have very good leadership skills. I’m enthusiastic to embark on this new school year and contribute to our community by capturing and preserving every second of your memories in a photograph. Hey freshmen!! My name is Amy Guo and I am running to be your freshmen class historian. As this is the very beginning of our high school journey, I find it especially important to capture all of our school/class events as they are our very first, here at Lowell. From photographing school events, contributing as a student leader, organizing events, & designing the 2023-2024 yearbook for my middle school in yearbook club, I will incorporate my experience into our freshmen year to make it one of the most memorable, & also progress along the way! I will fulfill my role as historian by ensuring that our class events have been captured & uploaded publicly for everyone to look back on. Along with representing us freshmen by designing the yearbook pages designated to our class, as I am familiar with how the yearbook designing system works.
