SBC Secretary Candidates
Hi, I am Maya Bhandari and I need your vote for SBC Secretary! As a Junior, I care wholeheartedly about Lowell and want the very best for our fellow students. My goal as SBC Secretary is to listen to each and every student, be a voice for all the students, and partner with the administration to take action and make Lowell more equitable and welcoming. Post COVID, I plan to create more opportunities for us to connect with one another, and remove any awkwardness. I will help us feel less stressed about academics and college admissions by making new experiences forever memorable. I will be an advocate for you. I have been fortunate to have 3 years of experience doing so as a leader of the Lowell Community Equity Committee and PTSA Advocacy Committee. I also play basketball and enjoy a wide number of clubs, such as Eco Club and Red Cross Club. We have experienced many challenges this year and I look forward to a brand new start back in school, proactively dealing with any issues, and making our time as fun as possible! Vote for MAYA BHANDARI for SBC SECRETARY!
Hi, I’m Ethan Qiu and I'm running to be your SBC Secretary!
I believe I am uniquely qualified to be your SBC Secretary because I will demand and fight for change that we students need. In past years, I have led my school in planning fundraisers, projects and events. Now I hope to bring my leadership experience to Lowell.
I will prioritize rebuilding a vibrant school community.
As we return to in-person school next year, my goal will be to help students once again connect and support each other in person.
If you vote for me, I will maintain our Lowell school spirit as well as create new opportunities for connections! Vote for me and I will work for you!
Hey everyone, my name is Wallace Tang, and I’m running to be your next SBC Secretary. As secretary, I will be taking meeting minutes, updating students on all of SBC’s initiatives, and getting input from students for these actions.
If elected, this would be my third year in LSA and I will continue to use my position and the relationships I’ve built to do what is needed. I’ll work hard to plan the quintessential high school activities like rallies and dances that we’ve missed out on this year. In addition to that, I’ve been a consistent advocate for talking with students and bringing their perspectives when making decisions. I plan on addressing the issues of school climate, sexual harassment/assault, and systemic racism at our school by creating opportunities for input from traditionally excluded student populations, educating ourselves on how to be better allies, and initiating programs to prevent and recover from sexual harassment.
These are extremely prevalent issues at our school. I believe that students and student government should take a large role in shaping our climate to better adapt to the new world we find ourselves going back into. I encourage you to vote Wallace Tang for Secretary!
