2018 Sophomore Class Board


​HELLO class of  2018! Now that we’re all settling in as sophomores, I’d like to tell you guys exactly what we plan to do this year. Lets start from the overarching goals of our board. We want to do new things and run events that you guys will want to attend. In order to do that, we’d like to have a more effective system of communication between the student body and LSA. We’re thinking about reviving the registry representative system, with a few tweaks, to keep you all updated on what’s up and what we’re doing. The reps will also help relay suggestions and ideas to us from you!

Fundraisers are something that can both be fun and exciting, while raising money for dances and rallies and other events! (like JProm and Senior Prom) Believe us, if you’re not excited for that now, you will be as it comes up! Now, we know you love boba milk tea (we do too), but after a while, that’s not so exciting anymore. We’re hoping to find new ways to fund our class while keeping you excited for the fundraisers in the first place! Possibly more Lowell apparel and restaurant fundraisers, maybe even a food truck?

With the money we raise from fundraisers, much of it goes into dances. But we know dances create a paywall sometimes, and so we’re planning on running more events that don’t have paywalls! Basically what we’re saying is they’ll be free! We’re all classmates, but there are more than seven hundred of us, and so we’re hoping that these events will encourage you to meet more of your 2018 classmates!

Though this is only our sophomore year, next year we’ll all be juniors, which means junior prom will be coming our way! And junior prom needs a committee! This year, we’ll be creating this committee and gathering a group of our amazing, experienced classmates to plan our junior prom. We can’t always do everything, so we’ll be reviewing applications and interviewing applicants this year!

MEET THE MEMBERS

Shojeh Liu // President

Hi everybody! I'm Shojeh Liu, 2018 class president! I'm super excited this year to be working with a wonderful board for all of you in the class of 2018, and Lowell in general. But if you're here, you probably want to know a bit about me, so lets get on to that!

Why I joined LSA: I joined LSA because I fell in love with Lowell. All of you that make Lowell the best place on Earth, you guys are awesome. When I first joined, I wanted to give back (I know, I know, super cliche and all) give back to all of you who made me excited to come back to this school every day, who I had deep( and some not so deep) conversations for hours on end, and who kept me from slacking off or becoming arrogant. I want all you guys to love Lowell just as much as me, and that's why I'm back again!

Other random facts: 
1. I love books! I'll read just about anything fiction and most nonfiction that's written well.
2. I play league of legends and currently main jungle
3. Badminton is life, I once played 7 hours straight
4. I listen to all kinds of music, but mostly like rock and pop music.

Fellenia Chan // Vice President

​My name is Fellenia Chan and I am the Vice President of the Class of 2018! Some words I would use to describe myself would include: friendly, kind, responsible, and quirky. To introduce a little about myself, I enjoy reading, watching dramas/anime, writing, and drawing. I was also born on February 26, 2000 and the reason for my unique name actually originates from this birth date. Seeing as I was born on February and the year 2000 marks a new millennium, my creative parents decided to combine the words, February and Millennium to create the name, Fellenia.  

Having been elected for the first time, I can honestly say that I am extremely excited to work with the other members of LSA, as well as the rest of the student body, to make a larger impact and difference in the Lowell Community. Some goals I have for this coming school year would include improving my communication with other students and teachers, learning new skills and organizational techniques, as well as being a vice president that I and others can be proud of! I hope that, by gaining these new skills and bettering my communication with others, we can all work together to make Lowell High School an even more welcoming and inclusive space that not only encourages students to pursue their academic interest, but to also have fun and participate in school events!
Uma Krishnaswamy // Secretary

​Hello! My name is Uma Krishnaswamy, and this is my second year on LSA. I love Chipotle just as much as I love being your secretary (I love Chipotle a lot). I’m insanely loyal, just like my two dogs, and I thoroughly enjoy working myself to tears (happy tears?). 

Being on LSA means a lot to me, since I enjoy giving back to this place that has provided me so much. Without all you guys, I’d probably be up at night staring at the ceiling, self-honing my social skills (which doesn’t exactly work). My main goal for this year include facilitating a better communication system between the Student Body and LSA. 

Well that’s pretty much it. Say hi to me in the halls if you get the chance. I’m not too hard to miss, and I really love talking to people (I’ll tell you all about the time I got my ears pierced!)

Savinnie Ho // Treasurer

​Hello peeps!!! My name is Savinnie and I am your 2018 class board treasurer this school year! First of all, something you will definitely notice about me is that I love saying thank you so much and have a nice day, so expect seeing me around school just flashing by saying the same phrase with the same exact smile like all day everyday! This school year, my goal as a LSA member is to make Lowell a happier and warmer home where we can all belong. With the whole LSA family, I hope to create more opportunities where our big family can have the chance to interact and unite as one community. Another of my big goal this school year is to make LSA more accessible for all of us. I also hope to see more of your lovely smiles flashing by and all your laughter echoing in the hallways. If I’m not busy studying in the library or at home, you can most likely find me on the courts playing tennis, or in the orchestra room playing the viola, or simply at home being the biggest, fattest couch potato ever found in history!
I’m super duper excited to work with all the above and below LSA members to make the incoming school year a memorable one for Lowell. I love food, but I certainly do not bite so please feel free to catch me anytime in the hallways or anywhere else if you have any questions or suggestions. Olivia Gon // Public Relations

​Heeey guys! I'm Olivia your 2018 Public Relations! This will be my second year on LSA, and I'm so excited to be able to give back to the awesome Lowell community for another year! As Public Relations I'll be handling the more artistic side of our board's job by making posters for events and other fun stuff like that! I love to meet new people, so don't be afraid to talk to me or say hi in the halls. I can be really quiet sometimes but don't let that stop you! I'm actually really talkative and weird (in a good way of course). You can also message me on Facebook or other social media if you have any questions/suggestions for our board or anything thing at all!
So anyway some random-ish stuff about me:
-I'm obsessed with Musicals. I quote and sing them waay too much (Les Mis is Life).
-I love food & I CANNOT live without BOBA. It's just not possible trust me.
-I watch too much Netflix and TV Shows. If anyone ever wants to discuss Bones, CSI, The Vampire Diaries, Grey’s Anatomy or Pretty Little Liars I'm here!
-I love drawing and colors and have quite the collection of makers, sharpies and other art supplies (well I’m PR so i mean) hahah
-I also play the piano and swim competitively!

Scout Mucher // Historian

​Photography has been my passion for many years. I am so lucky to live in such and wonderful city with beautiful sights to photograph. Now I have the opportunity to photograph all of my classmates and peers! I'm so excited to be historian and be on LSA this year.
