Video Lowell is a news and entertainment organization run by Lowell students for Lowell students. The purpose of Video Lowell is to provide a forum of communications: Announcements, messages, highlights, and perspectives that keep the community – students, staff, and families – in touch with one another. An underlying goal is to nurture a healthy and positive spirit: Video Lowell strives to offer students a voice and an opportunity to be engaged throughout school and to celebrate the diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and accomplishments of their school’s community.

POSITIONS
Scriptwriters:
- Write a full and detailed script in a timely manner with a greater focus on better storytelling; establish outlines for each episode by choosing which segment will be included and which order they appear; gather necessary information needed to complete script for each segment; work with Head Scriptwriter to review drafts submitted by segment producers and to add any media cues for videographers and editors; supervise SP’s segments making sure they follow guidelines and meet deadlines
- Develop outline and write script for segment, clearly establishing what needs to be produced to create the segment; turns in drafts through Google Classroom to be reviewed; work with Head Producers to schedule filming dates with scriptwriters, videographers, and participants; maintain clear and open communication throughout the process
- Tape segments of the episode, ensuring a high standard of audio and video; responsibly manage and keep track of equipment, including repacking and make sure all items/batteries are recharged; exhibit professionalism by asserting expertise in which practices will result in the best footage; attend school events to collect clips for the highlight reel; upload clips on SD card to hard drive and organize files
- Receive footage for each respective segment; communicate with producers and writers about editing specifics/ideas; manage all media for each project, employing organized and unified file-naming conventions/folder structures; apply a high standard to the video and audio editing to create attractive, unified graphics; add closed captions to final versions before exporting; edit episodes and segments by deadline and send to the head editor
