Mod Sheet Updates

Access the online form under the "Mod Sheets" tab in "Resources for Current Members".
Complete the form within two days of the mod opp.
Teachers will be taking attendance at every mod opp and distributing a code to students who were present at the mod opp. This code must be entered into the online form to verify your attendance. Students caught abusing this system will be given penalty mods.

Mod Sheets
We are now transitioning towards an online system for the mod sheets! Instead of using the mod sheets, fill out the online mod sheet form whenever you complete a mod opp. The teacher/admin hosting the mod opp will also take attendance and distribute a code to the students who signed up, which should be entered into the form following the mod opp.

FAQ
What is ‘True Dress Code’?
  • The top must be an all-white, collared shirt or blouse of any sleeve length.
  • The bottom may be either a pair of black pants or a skirt. Skirt must be at least around knee-length. Jeans and shorts are not allowed. Tights are not required, but if they are worn they must be either black or nylons. Leggings are not pants. Pants must not have rips, holes, or discolorations.
  • Outer layers (e.g. sweaters, jackets, cardigans) worn over the top of the outfit must also be white or black.
  • Appropriate shoes include professional sandals or boots, flats, heels, dress shoes, and all-black sneakers. No slides or flip flops.
What are mods/What purpose do they serve?
As a member of Shield and Scroll, you are committing to the larger role of taking initiative in helping the school by assisting in Arena, Back to School Night, Freshman Orientation, etc. In order to receive graduation recognition for your efforts, Shield and Scroll members must complete a certain number of hours of service (in the form of mods). Service can range from helping a teacher clean a room to organizing the book room to bringing lunches to students during AP week.
The number of mods needed to be completed do vary from semester to semester (see question below), but simply put, 1 mod = 20 minutes.
How many mods do I need to complete?
Spring: 30
Summer: 30
Fall: 40
If I complete more than the required number of mods during any given semester, do those extra mods count towards the next semester?
Simple answer: No, they do not.

The mods completed in any given semester only count towards the current period. In other words, mods do not roll over. So, if you complete 40 mods in the Spring of Junior year, that does not mean the extra 10 mods go towards Summer mods. You have just shown that you are a very dedicated member of Shield and Scroll, as you are going above and beyond to help your school :)
How do I receive credit for my mods?
To receive mods for completing a mod opp, you have to complete our online mod sheet form. The teacher/admin hosting the mod opp will distribute a code to students who signed up to be entered in the online mod sheet. The teacher/admin will also be taking attendance to verify that you completed the mod opp.
WHERE DO I TURN IN MY MOD SHEETS?
The online mod sheet should be submitted within two days of the mod opp. The online mod sheet form can be found in "Resources for Current Members" under "Mod Sheets".
What are penalty mods and what blasphemous act must I commit in order to receive them?
Penalty mods are basically additional mods you need to make up and you may receive them if you:
  • Are unable to attend mandatory events and thus need to make up the mods
  • Are not wearing proper formal attire or the beanie if either are required for an event or mod opp
  • Miss a mod opp that you signed up for without telling an officer or without valid excuse
  • Exhibit excessively insubordinate or inappropriate behavior towards staff members or officers
What constitutes a valid excuse from mod opps?
A valid excuse includes illness or any other uncontrolled circumstances. You will not receive penalty mods for missing a mod opp due to any of these circumstances, but you need to inform a officer ASAP.
How will I be notified about mods opps?
Usually if there is a mod opp available, an email will be sent out instructions on how to sign up. Generally, this involves replying to the email with your name, reg, and desired shift (if applicable). For larger mod opps, there may be a sign up spreadsheet or Google Form. Additional emails will be sent out if the mod opp is still in need of workers.
