Student Body Council (SBC)

Hello! Welcome to our page. We're SBC, the peeps behind every school rally, major dance, and many community activities. We know it's been said to you too many times, but really, Lowell is a special place and we're all lucky to be in a school of such diversely unique minds. It's not hard to see why our passion is to bring together these unique minds!

Our mission this year is to build our Lowell community by...
1) Increasing communication with our student body (Check us out on Facebook&Instagram! Don't be shy to shoot us a DM or stop us in the halls!)
2) Partnering with other Lowell organizations to expand our engagement
3) Increasing school spirit! We always are looking for ways to improve our events and dreaming up new events.

ABHAY NEGI // VICE PRESIDENT

Hello! Hello!

I'm Abhay! (ah-bae)
And you are my new friend!

I really want to get to know you! And I really want to be there for you!
Whether it's about throwing an idea out for the rally, or you need help with physics, or you need help deciding what class to take, or you want to go on a rant about how misleading raisin cookies are, or you can't decide what to wear today, or you want to go for a fun run, or you need a piece of life advice, or you need someone to talk to because you're having a bad day, or you need someone to talk to because you're having the best day of your life, or you need a weird person to talk to, or you'd like to challenge someone to a lip sync battle, or you simply just want a hug, I will be there for you! ^__^
Because YOU are totally awesome, dude!

JOANNE TRINH // SECRETARY

Hey there sugar babies ;)

My name is Joanne! I am your fellow student body secretary and a senior here at the one and only Lowell High School. I am extremely excited to be part of LSA this year! I hope to meet as many fellows cardinals as possible. I'm really friendly and open to any opinions. A long time goal of mine is to know the entire class of 2016, and I'm about 80% there. Now let's get to the juicy stuff about me. 1) I'm a nerd when it comes to Calculus, so if ya'll need a tutor, Hmu anytime. 2) I love chicken if you bring me a bucket of chicken, you'll be loved. 3) If you say giraffe 3 times to me, i'll share another secret about me. To wrap this up, I hope to meet and share my craziness to all of you guys. I may seem like a little innocent and quiet school girl, but once you meet me, my inner sassy and craziness will be unleashed. If you guys have any questions, concerns, or favors, i'll be happy to try my best to help! I would say that I'm also a great relationship counselor, so if anyone would like some advice, don't be afraid to talk to me!! Hehe . I promise, no matter how bad things can get; whether it is family, school, or personal problems, Every thing will be fine, just stay positive and talk to someone. Have a amazing day!

Xoxo Joanne.

RYAN HO // TREASURER

Ryan Ho is a senior who is currently Lowell’s SBC Treasurer. He loves giving back to the community in any way he can and that very ambition has led him to become the SBC treasurer. His sense of giving back to the community is also embodied in his extracurricular activities and work - from volunteering at the Academy of Sciences to giving grants to community projects seeking to tackle social justice issues. Work and academics aside, he enjoys staying active through sports and spending time with friends and family

JESSICA ENG // COMMUNITY LIAISON

Cheers! My name is Jessica Eng and I am your 2015-2016 SBC Community Liaison. My experience at Lowell has been absolutely amazing thus far and I want to share the same love with other students here. Before this position, I was the 2017 Treasurer for 2 years. I decided to run for Community Liaison not only to experience a new job, but to also see and serve the entire student body from multiple angles. Essentially, my job is to organize and facilitate community events with the Parent Teacher Student Association, the Student Advisory Council, the School Site Council as well as the Lowell Student Association.

Other Associations at Lowell: Lowell Dance Company, Forensics (speech), GirlsWhoCode

Feel free to email me with suggestions, questions, or that restaurant suggestion you found on Yelp! --> jessi.eng2179@gmail.com

CARRIE LIU // PUBLIC RELATIONS

Hi there!(:
My name is Carrie Liu and I am your 2016 SBC Public Relations. I am super excited for the upcoming school year because there will be so many fun and exciting events such as Homecoming, Winterball, Spirit Week, Talent Show, Prom, etc. It is my job to publicize all these exhilarating events through eye-catching posters, fliers, banners, as well as other creative ways that will capture peoples attention. I love to draw, paint, and design so making these huge banners and posters will be a pleasure rather than a duty. I'm experienced with a variety of mediums such as watercolor, Chinese brush painting, acrylic painting, printmaking, sculpting, and of course sketching and drawing. I also love to do yoga and zumba. Besides art, yoga and zumba are my biggest stress relievers. Staying active and healthy are really important to me. Whenever you see me, either in the halls or outside of school, please don't hesitate to talk to me because I am a very friendly and open minded person. I try to live everyday by keeping my my mind open,my body healthy, and my soul happy.

KAMILLA WOO // CO-PUBLIC RELATIONS

Hey! I’m Kamilla, or Kami if it’s easier. I’m super excited to work with SBC this year as your 2015-2016 Co-PR. With all these amazing events coming up, it’s my job to help the PR in making posters and banners for them. Art is my passion and I love creating any type of visual art, like photography, graphic design, painting, and sketching. I’m not that hard to find, usually surrounded by absurd amounts of art supplies, so if you have any questions or just need someone to talk or vent to, just come up to me, I’m all ears! Hope to have an amazing time with everyone this year.

ZOE FOX // DANCE COORDINATOR

Hello Lovely Humans of Lowell High!
My name is Zoe Fox (yes, related to Megan Fox, Michael J. Fox, Jamie Foxx and of course all wild foxes) and I am your SBC 2016 Dance Coordinator! My job as dance coordinator means I'm basically Lowell's party planner for Homecoming, Winterball, and the Last Dance. My whole life at Lowell really revolves around dance. I have been on the Song team since freshman year, and have been captain since sophomore year! I also had the pleasure of planning 2016 junior prom "All In" last year. I enjoyed planning dances so much that I was elected to give you guys the best, most amazing, school dance experience ever!

When planning dances this year, I'm SOOO open to suggestion on what YOU want to see at dances, because ultimately, that's my job! Feel free to come up to me in the halls, 6 block in the Cave, or shoot me an email at the sbc email! lowellhssbc@gmail.com

We are going to have an AWESOMMME year together and the dances will help make beautiful memories for your time at Lowell!
