Every year we get look forward to the shows that the drama, choir, band, orchestra, and dance department put on. Not only does Lowell have smart students and gifted athletes, we also have incredibly talented actors, singers, musicians, and dancers. Several shows are put on throughout the year, and you definitely don't want to miss your chance to see your friends and classmates hit the stage and steal the show.
Choir, Band, and Orchestra Concerts
Choir, Orchestra, and Band all have several fantastic and amazing showcases throughout the year. These truly talented musical prodigies gather for a few nights that are scattered around the year to present their gifts. Must be in these programs to perform with the groups.
Dance Concert
Lowell Dance holds one show the entire year for two nights only! Watch as these graceful and extremely flexible students take your breath away with their dance moves. From hip-hop styles to old school jazz, these students will have you on your feet dancing along by the end of the night.
Fall Play
The fall play is put on by the drama program. The play usually runs in the second to last week of October. The actors and actresses train their hardest for a grueling two months to put on a brilliant and mind-blowing show. Tickets sold during registry, on the cat walk during and after school, and at the door!
AUDITIONS: There are two auditions held for the fall play. One is held before the school year starts, the semester before for upperclassmen. A second audition is held for a few days to attract freshmen or whoever was unable to make it to the first audition. Students of all grades are welcome and highly encouraged to try out for the play!
What you'll need for an audition: A memorized monologue, confidence and energy!
Spring Musical
The spring musical is put on by a conjoined effort of the musical, dance, and theater department. The spring musical usually runs in the second to last week of March. Dancers, singers, actors, and musicians all join forces to put on one heck of a musical spectacular! Tickets are sold during registry, on the catwalk, after school, and at the door!
AUDITIONS: The musical auditions differ slightly from the fall play auditions. The process takes place over a span of about two weeks, the first for all auditions. The second for callbacks.
What you'll need: A prepared song with the music score, a memorized monologue, confidence and energy!
Talent Show
The talent show is one of the biggest shows of the year. The night is filled with a variety of different acts ranging from singing and dancing to one person plays. The talent show is not only a performance for these students but also a competition. The winning acts receive a cash prize of $50, $100, or $150. This is a one night only show, tickets sold on the cat walk during and after school, during registry, and at the door!
AUDITIONS: Sign up for a time slot with the Events Coordinator. Come in during scheduled date and time with your prepared act. Acts can be solo or in groups.
What you'll need: A talent show form, a prepared act of your talent, energy, and confidence!
