President Jessi Yu
Hey All! My name’s Jessi and I’m so excited to serve as your SBC President this year. This will be my third and final year on LSA and I can’t wait to see what creative ideas we come up with while distance learning.
Issues ranging from racial inequality to unsustainable practices continue to plague our school and this year, my board members and I promise to bring those issues to light and leave future Lowellites with a safer and kinder Lowell.
When I’m not doing school work or with my friends, you can probably find me at your local burrito shop enjoying a fresh veggie burrito. My special talent is being able to rap Nicki Minaj's hit song "Super Bass" and my hobbies include playing Solitaire and making Spotify playlists.
If we were back at school, you’d probably be able to find me in the Cave, but if you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out, I promise I respond really fast.
I'm really excited to meet you all! :))
Vice President Emmanuel Ching
Hey y’all! My name is Emmanuel Ching and I am super excited to be your next SBC Vice President! I’ve loved serving my class for the past three years and I’m confident that this year will be just as fun and fresh.
In my spare time, I love watching political shows, listening to music (right now, I’m really into Clean Bandit), and taking care of my plants. I basically run on boba and coffee; chicken tenders are the best after-school snack.
If/when we go back and you see me around school, please don’t hesitate to talk to me. See you around!
Elections Commissioner Amy Sullivan
Hi everyone! My name is Amy Sullivan and I’m your 2020-2021 SBC Elections Commissioner. Aside from managing elections and counting votes, I enjoy thrifting, traveling, and rewatching Monsters Inc (yes, Sully is my twin). If you ever need me, you could probably find me browsing around Goodwill, but if you don’t, feel free to DM me @amysulliivan or email firstname.lastname@example.org <3
Secretary Viviana Ojeda
Hi everyone! I'm Viv and I'm super excited to serve you this year as SBC Secretary. I am very passionate about LSA, the work we do, and the friends I've made because of it. One of my goals for this year is to see more student involvement in LSA; everyone knows that LSA is interested in the student body, but I want the student body to be more interested in LSA. Outside of LSA you can find me watching dramas on Netflix, walking through Golden Gate Park, baking an unholy amount of banana bread, or crying over college apps :,). I'm also a member of the Wrestling and Track teams, Peer Mentoring, and Sports Medicine Club. My email is email@example.com, so if you ever have questions about LSA or any of the other activities I do, feel free to contact me! See you around!
Treasurer Lindsey Chun
Hi everyone! My name is Lindsey Chun and I'm your SBC treasurer! I'm super excited to be a part of LSA and I look forward to working with everyone. As treasurer, my role is to manage funds, create and maintain budgets, as well as work with the accountant to keep track of money$$$!
Outside of SBC, I am a part of the Lowell Dance Company, Bring Change to Mind Club, and Peer Mentoring. A few of my hobbies are painting, watching TV shows (my favorites are Grey's Anatomy and Elite), and spending hours on Tiktok. Although current circumstances are not ideal, I hope we can still make the most out of this year! Please feel free to contact me @lindseyychun on Instagram or my email, firstname.lastname@example.org :)
Community Liaison Joanna Lam
Hello, hello, hello! My name is Joanna Lam and I am beyond excited to serve as the SBC Community Liaison. I’ll be representing the Lowell Student Body on the PTSA, School Site Council, and SFUSD Student Advisory Council. I’ll be presenting student feedback, questions, comments, and concerns to these various groups in the interest of making your time at Lowell the best it can be. I also plan our annual Social Awareness Week, where Lowell students dive deep into a particular social issue through workshops, guest speakers, and other activities.
This will be my third year on LSA, I’ve previously served as the 2022 President. (Shout out to my fellow juniors!) I’m also a proud member of Sunrise Lowell High School, part of a nation-wide movement for climate justice. When I’m not running around Zoom rooms, I’m critiquing the choices of the people on Property Brothers, (that backsplash does not go with your countertops!) or I’m doing a Duolingo language lesson, desperately trying to recover my streak. (Real ones know the struggle.)
I’m striving to increase transparency between students, parents, teachers, administrators, and everybody else in our community. Especially during shelter-in-place, it is critical that we communicate with each other. I’ve always had an open dm/inbox policy, now more than ever, do not hesitate to reach out if you need anything.

Here are some things I enjoy doing in my free time:
Events Coordinator Kelly Higa
Hey Everyone! My name is Kelly Higa and I’m super thrilled to be your SBC Events Coordinator for the 2020-2021 school year! This is my first year on LSA which makes me incredibly honored to serve in this position for my senior year. I will be responsible for organizing your spirit rallies, assemblies, talent show, and other school-wide spirit functions.
I am apart of the Lowell Girls Varsity Flag Football Team, Shield & Scroll Elections Committee, Peer Mentoring, Japanese National Honors Society, and Heart in Motion Leadership Program aside from being on the SBC Board. I have also been dragon boat paddling for the past four years outside of school. I like to spend my free time trying new food places with my friends, drinking boba, decorating calendars & planners, watching Tiktoks, and hanging out with my sixteen puddles ducks.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, ideas, or input for school events! I look forward to meeting each and every one of you!
Email: email@example.com & firstname.lastname@example.org
Note: I am not related to Ryan Higa to the best of my knowledge even though there is still a slight possibility that we are very distant cousins :)
Dance Coordinator Shavonne Hines-Foster
Since my freshman year, I have been committed to changing the culture at Lowell. Throughout my career, I developed a passion for leadership and advocacy. I’ve served the Lowell community in many forms. From being the President of the Black Student Union, to now filling my role as SBC Dance Coordinatior. I currently serve as the SFUSD Student Delegate, I hope to continue to avidly represent the students of our district. In my spare time, I enjoy making art, dancing, and more. Feel free to contact me @vonny.okay on Instagram or through email @email@example.com
Public Relations Samantha Cheung
Hello everyone! I’m Sammi Cheung and I’m so excited to serve as your SBC Public Relations this year! This is my first year in student government and my job is to give you guys updates regarding events and issues at Lowell with the help of the Co-PR, so be sure to look out for posts on the Lowell Instagram page (@lowellhs) and Facebook. I’m also part of the Lowell Track and Field team as well as Shield and Scroll, and I’m the president of a club called Education for Developing Countries. Outside of school, I love to bake, create art, and hangout outside on nice days.

Co-Community Liaison Nancy Garcia
Hey y’all! My name's Nancy and I’m very excited to be your Co-Community Liaison this year! I’ll be working alongside Joanna on the PTSA, School Site Council, and Student Advisory Council to ensure student input and leadership in education. As of now, I’m looking forward to preparing for our Social Awareness Week to give us the space to learn and grow as students and people!
When I’m not doing school work, I’m preparing for La Raza’s Zoom Socials or actively working with SEO Scholars on speeches or essays. If im not doing either of these, I’m probably enjoying some homemade dishes with my family or going for a run (let’s call it a fast walk after these months of quarantine and takeout haha.)
If you have any questions, I’m happy to answer them. Be sure to reach out:
Co-Public Relations Angelina Zhou
Hi guys! I’m Angelina Zhou and I am really excited to serve as your 2020-2021 SBC Co-Public Relations! As Co-PR, I work with the PR to publicize all school events and any announcements that come up throughout the school year on social media.
