After school Q&A sessions with any students who are willing/want to express their opinions on current school issues, events, and much more.
This will finally give the students a chance to actually have their voice heard. This will also help better the communication and clear up the details on what exactly Lowell Student Association does. [UPDATE: HAPPENING!]
Lowell used to have a float parade at the Fall rally, but due to various unknown reasons to the more recent boards...we have no idea what happened. Well, we'd like to bring that tradition back! Floats would be make by spirit committee, also corresponding to the assigned theme. During the rally, there will be a float parade where nominees of Homecoming court will stand on the floats along with the class board and fellow spirit committee members. Just a simple game idea for rallies. Harry Potter's famous sport: Quidditch. Not totally sure on what the rules would be here, but I'm picturing people on broomsticks, a tiny person to be the "snitch", and hoola-hoops, bouncy balls...and much much more. [UPDATE: HAPPENING!]
Who doesn't like to receive a reward after winning a competition? If this idea were to be put into effect then the winners of the games during the Fall rally would receive a small trophy. After the rally is over, the class with the most wins in rally games will win the sweepstakes trophy. All of this is then tallied into the overall performance of their Spirit Committee, and the winning class will receive the Spirit Cup. The Spirit Cup will then have the winning class engraved onto the plaque. For a whole week, this trophy will be on display in the main office. Aside from participating in the rally games, one special trophy will be awarded to the most outstanding member of each grade's Spirit Committee. During the Spring spirit week, there is always a spirit day titled "Color Wars". Each grade is assigned a color to wear. Seniors usually red, Juniors get blue, Sophomores go with green (most of the time), and Freshmen are sometimes left with purple, yellow, or some other shade of the rainbow. The twist for this would be: everyone goes to the rally wearing a white shirt. One of the rally games would be for each grade to select several people to make their way down to the field. In buckets would be special colored power (the kind they use for color run). The goal would be to have these people run up to the stands and "color" their class with the assigned colors. The team that colors their class the fastest would be the winner.
